Title: Missing Bitcoin
Post by: helhazz on March 15, 2013, 08:23 pm
Just discovered my wallet has been emptied. Added some funds today which were almost immediately withdrawn,  leaving no record of tranaction. Any clues out there..? :'(

What service were you using? SR? blockchain.info? The Bitcoin-QT client?

Someone could have phished your password, or guessed it if the password was weak.

If it's the desktop client, you probably have malware on your computer.

Depends on exactly what you mean by "your" wallet being emptied.

If you mean you deposited BTC to the wallet address shown on your Silk Road account and that you've been subsequently checking that transaction on blockchain.info (not necessarily a good idea to do that BTW) and see that the funds were then moved out of that wallet to another wallet address - that is nothing to worry about. Its OK - That's just the random automated bitcoin mixing that happens with all SR deposits. Just relax and wait and you'll see the funds shown on your SR account soon enough (if they aren't already).
