Hmm- never seen this before, says 'Scripts Currently Forbidden' in a yellow message bar at bottom of browser (with an options button). I refreshed identity, still doing it. WTF is that...

It's just the NoScript notification. To disable it, go to the NoScript icon -> Options -> Notifications, and uncheck "Show message about blocked scripts."
Or you can disable NoScript

Is there a reason to want scripts in TOR?

Blocking JavaScript will break a lot of clearnet web sites. It's fine for Silk Road and forum, though.

OP, I would recommend continuing to block all scripts! Most likely the scripts aren't going to be dangerous or malicious, but there's not very much benefit to allowing them.

The only thing I've found from the forum that needs scripts is multi-quote, which most people don't use anyway. Other than that I think there is 100% functionality of SR and the forums.

Refreshing your identity does nothing except change your path to the forums. It shouldn't ever change the content of the page. If it does, something very weird and suspicious is going on.
It's possible that a very bad connection cut off part-way before the style got filled in (sometimes that happens to me), but other than that, the content should be identical. NoScript comes disabled by default. You must have clicked the button next to the address bar or something. I keep mine on, there's nothing wrong with it, just saying. And the smileys to respond to posts with don't show up in the "respond" WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor thingie unless javascript is on.

Cool, thanks fo the feedback, I went ahead and left scripts off and disables the message though.
