Title: Problems entering an ecrypted address when ordering
Post by: motek on February 04, 2013, 09:08 am
For some reason when I enter my address encrypted with PG into the address box, it juts redirects me to a new empty address box?.

If I enter it in plaintext it's fine and works, but not enccrypted..

Can anyone help?  Any ideas?

Thanx, a confused motek

I think a few months ago some people were having a problem where if they entered a single line of text (with no return character), it wouldn't accept that. There might be an issue with your character encoding using nonstandard return character(s). You could try hitting enter once and pasting the encrypted block starting on the second line.

Type the name and address out completely in word pad or whatever program you type with, then cut and paste it into your PGP clipboard and encrypt the whole msg, then cut and paste that into your SR address box.

Easy peasy  ;)

Yeah that's what I did, but I got an 'error' message saying I MUST  fill in the address box?

Hmmmm,  could it be that  becoz I added MY  PGP  key as well in the encrypted block?

However it WILL accept my UNENCRYPTED address  :o   What gives?

SR says all it's communications are encrypted, which I take means all pm's are encrypted,  so when do people mainly use PGP?

I dont encrypt most of my messages, especially those which contain no 'sensitive' information .... should I?  :-\

What is the general rule of  thumb when it comes to encryption,  what messages (aside from addy's)  should be encrypted?

Please  pardon my dumb noobie questions,  but after conquering everything else to become an active "cryptoanarchist" on the road, I cant send my fuckin address!   Can you imagine my let down?   I was SO close to placing my first orders....and this!  :'(

Any ideas would be appreciated, and thanx to you guys who have already shared some ideas  8)
