Post by: crazyburnout on January 20, 2013, 05:00 pm
Ya know what really grinds my gears? When im looking through a vendors comments to see if it is worth risking FE with them and all the comments say :"FE will update when product arrives". and then they never update. pages and pages of the same thing. come on guys, we have the edit comments options for a reason

Not necessarily, some people are trustworthy, thats why the comments are important. i have flawless stats and i have finalized early more than once for one reason or another and i have never had any issues whatsoever. its just a bit difficult to tell who can be trusted when people dont update

and the fact that vendors can make buyer accounts and post fake feedback

People have suggested showing some buyer/reviewer stats. They could still be anonymous, but you could see how long they've had an account, and maybe how many purchases they've made (perhaps binned, like <10, 10-50, and 50+). That way you could make a better judgement about whether to trust the review.

ebay does something similar - as we keep humorously comparing ourselves to the black market ebay. they post the feedback with a few letters of the username and the rest asterisks, and the buyer's stats and stars and such with it. obviously we wouldn't give any indication of the user, but still, astor's got the right idea.

Out of hundreds of comments I've seen that say "FE will update", I've only seen one person actually update :/ lol

How do you know that? Maybe they delete the part of their comment that says "FE, will update"

But on the real, fuck FE

Learn how to use the clutch!!!  Lol!
But really!!!
We ask people to not FE specifically for several reasons.
First, it looks like shit when people are trying to get an idea of a vendor and they check out the feedback & half the feedback says "FE for trusted vendor", you have to go through 5 more pages of feedback to get what a non FE vendor would give you,
Secondly,  even though customers think that their doing a favor by getting a vendor their money sooner & showing that they are giving them their trust, the real situation is, it makes it harder for a vendor to follow a transaction if there are complications when they FE, which is the second reason why we ask that no one FE's.
Thirdly, unfortunately too many times you see,  "FE for trusted vendor will update later."  We don't get that too much because what few say that are impressed enough afterwords to change their feedback; but unfortunately that's not the case for most vendors, so you see a lot of "FE for trusted vendor."

I agree. That grinds my gears as well. As does good vendors with good products and good prices who require FE. I'm always like "guess I'm not ordering that."

i have finalized maybe 5 times in the 8 months i have been here but never for more than 200 bucks. but then again if i lose 200 no big deal im not gonna miss it, 1,000 would be another story though. 3 of those times that i FE was also when i was new here and barely had any stats

What grinds my gears is
1 people who FE then come to the forums and bitch about it and wanna know how to get money back

2 People who have something smart to say on a board about something yet they are on the board doing the same thing just in a low key way.

3 people who give out negative karma just cause they dont like the person.

Out of 30 transaction i have never FE and always got my orders never not one time have i lost anything or it not arrived..Ic had to have a few Re Ship cause of just shit product but thats it...ILOVE U GUYS!!

People who FE are not the brightest.

You know, it is kind of depressing, but the majority of people in this world are not smart.  I have a hard time remembering that.

Newbs that have more posts than me because of the new newbie section really grinds my gears...I've worked for my posts leaving reviews, answering questions, and generally adding to the forums... oh well 9 months on sr at least i don't have to FE

For anyone not aware of it, you don't have to leave any feedback *at all* when you FE.  Just finalize, then navigate away from the feedback page that pops up.  You'll release the coins to the vendor, and can leave the feedback until you actually have something other than "yeah, so, I think it'll come and be awesome... so like... this order's gonna be a 6/5, for sure!!!"

I've FE'd twice.  Er, sorry, 3 times.  Twice I was new.  Third time the guy required it for a larger listing with express shipping, and I went for it based on the forum feedback.  I've never had a package not arrive... until recently.

Fucking $20 order, in escrow, and the vendor is ignoring me 14 days after marked as shipped.  Figures.

I agree, mate..

Or when people leave feedback like "arrived to my house, it looks good"

All feedback should require, days the package took to arrive, and what country it was sent to.

Also, a message about if the product really matches the description given.

And it'd be great if everyone came back to update about quality but obviously that would be impossible!
