Post by: underground resistance on January 13, 2013, 03:55 am
Are there any legit people on this forum willing to do USD to bitcoins? How can I do this without getting ripped off?

Why are so many people under the impression that bitcoins are illegal?

Paranoid people think they are illegal. Its totally legal to buy coin and fuck their list they put you on because everyone uses fake names and they cant stop it. If some public servant ever asks you why you bought them, then tell them to get fucked. We are not fucking slaves!

Because some day soon, they might be? Or rather, tracked/controlled/regulated/taxed.
Same reason gun owners don't want to register their guns.

If you want to try some people outside the forum I suggest looking into Bitcoin-OTC. It's a p2p network using a WoT (Web of Trust) to determine if someone is trustworthy enough to buy/sell from. I use them very often and prefer buying from real BTC users than going through exchanges as this further decentralizes the network.
