It appears there will be a Silk Road delegation speaking at one of the upcoming bitcoin conferences? How does that work?

It's interesting and I would say that silk road is the biggest users of bit coin so it seems fair to have a rep from the road there. Couldn't they just hire a lawyer to do it for them?

I saw an interview with pgp developer Phil Zimmermann, who explained that he was currently working on encrypted video conferencing and other services. I think it's being developed as commercial software, maybe SR will use something like this.
Zimmermann said some other things in the interview that were a bit strange though, i.e. I think he suggested hushmail as an alternative to pgp, without any caveat or warning whatsoever :-\

I saw an interview with pgp developer Phil Zimmermann, who explained that he was currently working on encrypted video conferencing and other services.
His next big project after PGP was ZRTP, which is encrypted voice calls, so video conferencing would be the next logical step. It doesn't really matter. A "Silk Road" appearance would be a public video conference that doesn't need encryption, just anonymity and location privacy.

If you video conference then choose your location carefully.
UK Police developed some weird shit which can extrapolate the vibrations of energy cables in a video and through this and historic from electronic companies they can pinpoint location..it is experimental now but could become reality the more logs they got.

I don't understand how this is beneficial to either party. The admins are taking a massive security risk and bitcoin is publicly aligning itself with its (admittedly VERY important) nefarious side. Why exactly would they they do this?

so will the host be investigated, since most "vendors" pay to attend or present unless the entire event is sponsored and nobody pays to attend is a different scenario.
again same rules don't leave a paper trail; LE are hoping to join the dots associate one person to the next, each in the chain are a potential source either one could know enough to identify key figures.

This is exciting stuff though. I can see both positive and negatives about SR's appearance at a open forum; however, it pleases me the most that DPR is willing to put SR even more boldly into the faces of LE.
Eventually this sort of thing is going to be legitimized into the public realm, and as with SR, DPR is paving the road to acceptance!!
Not for such a stinky similarity, but when you buy a house near the dump, you can not stand the smell at first. But when your around it long enough, and it becomes common place, you just sort of get to accept it---------I hope this is the same---eventually as your budgets run lower and lower, and more sites and communities like SR pop up, you eventually got to face the fact that you live near the dump----so LE just accept that you guys are always going to smell the shit, and move on to bigger and more important issues than vice control:{

Yea, I have been thinking about his comment all day. The drama of those watching a self inflicted death in the name of SR---DPR. The shock would absolutely freak people the fuck out!! Those Guy mask always makes me uncomfortable anyways.

Just curious. I know some of the laws DPR has broken in the US, mainly RICO----I think, but what could they get him for being that its his site and he is not actually dealing?

Hey DPR, will you implement something like 'star buyer' when someone reaches $5000 in purchases?
Also, in the feedback system, will you implement a package arrived YES/NO feedback part, separate from the numbered rating? Because lots of people don't seem to get packages but give 5/5 ratings for partial refunds and so on. That seems problematic to me and misleading because the numbered rating doesn't give the buyer an idea of what chance their packages have of getting through.

Really though, it's pretty evident whether you are a "star" buyer or not when we as vendors can see your stats and exactly how much you've spent after placing an order. This is how we decide whether or not to process your transaction :-D spring is right (as usual teehee). You should only offer that information to the vendor's that you feel safe sharing that with. Just sayin :-/ Also, if a seller wants to know your stats that badly, they can just send you a message asking you to place an order for a custom transaction (which is really kinda pointless lol). I don't see why you would want anyone else to know how much you spend on drugs. It's not exactly something most people boast about. Now being a star vendor is a completely different thing.
