Title: Blockchain through Tor
Post by: ronswanson77 on January 04, 2013, 06:45 pm
So I know that some sites will flag you and potentially even close your account if you access them through TOR (Mt Gox, for example) so I have to access Mt Gox through my regular browser but once I buy my coins and I want to wash them I send them through a couple instawallets and eventually to blockchain.info to anonymize them.  My question is can I access sites like Instawallet and blockchain through TOR without getting my accounts and wallets locked?  Does it eliminate the point of 'washing' my BTCs by accessing these sites through a regular browser?

Yes, you can access blockchain.info and Instawallet over Tor, and yes, it's pointless to transfer coins between these wallets if each one is linked to your IP address.

Instawallet has blocked tor ips for short periods of time in the past due to abuse via tor, however they do not block your account and it will be accessable later, or right away if you change tor ips a few times.

Blockchain has always been very tor friendly for me.

Thanks guys, I will start using Tor for all of that stuff now.  Makes it easier to do it all in one place.

Are you just washing them once? Is it worth doing it anymore times seeing as SR tumbles them itself when you deposit them into your account?

You would want to wash them before you put Them in SR Account you do not want to trace to SR
