We'd like to introduce ourselves. This new vendor account, the SR Gaming Commission, is a partnership of vendors joining together to bring a collection of high-stakes, high-payout games of chance to Silk Road. With our pooled resources and bankroll, we will be able to offer better odds and better payouts on our games than any solo vendor.
This first few weeks will be a bit of a beta test as we gauge demand for what the SR community wants in gaming. We intend to offer fun games, with real competition. We currently offer three games of chance, two of which offer 10BTC payouts (but we will soon far exceed this with 100BTC and 500BTC payouts).
What's in store:
• More games, including games of skill
• 100 BTC and 500 BTC payouts on select games
• Automated payout bot for truly INSTANT payouts
• And more.
All of our games utilize the Silk Road transaction id hash in order to ensure provable randomness, fairness and instantaneous results (thanks, eddie!).
We also operate exclusively through SR escrow and in-system BTC transfer so that SR Dispute Resolution can guarantee we pay all winners.
To celebrate our grand opening, the first 5 customers in EACH game will all get one free play (one ticket price credited to users SR account).

We certainly do have it on hand but only a couple BTC had reached the SR account. The rest were/are waiting for confirmations on the blockchain. (In our defense, this post just went live a few minutes ago).
-
I second the Texas Hold Em....cant wait to try roulette though. :) good idea.
-
SR Gaming Commission has been very professional with me so far with my winnings.
I have not received any coin yet but we are waiting on an xfer.
In their defense they did state this is BETA and they're brand new.
I will return in a few hours and report with an update.

Pretty cheap buy in. I might give this a shot. :)

This is going to end so badly...you have to be a complete moron to play this..luckily there are plenty on here.

Why do you say that. Not bashing, just genuinely curious what flaws you see?
-
Meh, it's a couple bucks to play. Obviously don't spend all your money, and if you can't handle these kinds of games, don't play.
I wonder if a time stamp is included in the transaction hash. If it is, submitting multiple plays at once will lower the randomness.

Wow, tough day at the Gaming Commission.
Big winner:

10BTC paid.
-
I just won 2BTC !
-
Update:
They have paid me my earnings! Just got home from shopping.
-
So after buying on the road for a year now suppose it's time to make my first forum post to let everyone know my experience with the sr gaming commission:
I saw this thread and thought what the hell had since change leftover why not try my luck? Played the bingo and lost but was credited for a free play so I switched and tried the roulette and sure enough three 7's! I received a message within minutes congratulating me and saying my 10 coins were in their way and within 5 or so minutes my account wad credited.
So time for me to go shopping. ;D

The 7s game has approximate odds that are... way, way off. 10 hexadecimal digits means 16 possibilities per digit. That's 16^10 = 1.09 x 10^12 possibilities.
Of those, the possible combinations of wins are... well I can't remember how to calculate that :'( But there are 10 digits, need three 7s... so that's what, 10 choose 3 (nCr)?
How exactly did you calculate an approximate 1 in 40 chance of winning...?
-
So this is what I bought with my winnings...
http://xfq5l5p4g3eyrct7.onion/upload/8363cc4bcbc24c7436db5fca13b0783a.jpg
edit: the game was " SRGC Lucky Lotto: 1 in 16 Odds to Win 2฿ Instantly "
However the rules have changed when I won ( 4 times ) the rules were last digit to be a 5 which has now been changed to a 7. I looked over all of my previous purchases and none of them have an ending in 7.
Just trying to fair with everyone. I won with 5's not the current number 7...

Hm... yeah, I'll buy that without calculating the odds. Been too long and I'm too lazy. Still, that's a 2.1% chance of winning, so that's 1 in 50 basically... a lot closer than I was suggesting though, I'll give you that :)

So after buying on the road for a year now suppose it's time to make my first forum post
A likely story. Shit like this, shill accounts magically appearing, makes me more weary. :/
-
what are the skill games going to be?
-
I hate people that bet and lose and make excuses. If you a bad loser don't play. If you play in Vegas you lose the same way. Odds are always in favor of CASINO. (THIS IS LEGIT)
-
what are the skill games going to be?
Sickboy is working on that. Hopefully next week we'll have one up. I understand it'll be something poker-ish(?)
No shills, astor. We've paid out six wins so far. The winners names are listed in each game listing. PM them on the market to ask them yourselves.
-
Fascinating: of the six transactions I have access to, none have a single 7 in them. The odds of that are... 16^10 possibles with 7s included, and 15^10 possibles with no 7s included. So that's what, 15^10 / 16^10 = 0.52 chance of having no 7s per transaction. 0.52^6 (six transactions, each with a .52 chance of happening, so the chance they all happen is 0.52 to the sixth power, right?)
... did I get that right, or did I fuck it up? Well assuming I'm right, there's a 2% chance that given six uniformly random 10 digit hex strings, they'd all have no 7s. Sorry to poke holes in your game (and to be clear I'm only talking about the 7s), but something tells me that because of the algorithm generating these transaction IDs, it's a lot less likely than 1 in 50 somebody's gonna win.
-
Well assuming I'm right, there's a 2% chance that given six uniformly random 10 digit hex strings, they'd all have no 7s.
But they're not uniformly random, unless the transaction ID is pulled from /dev/urandom. I mentioned this earlier in the thread. Presumably the transaction hash is calculated from the item ID and a date-time stamp, and maybe other things, like your user ID. But your user ID and the item ID remain the same, so if you submit a bunch of transactions around the same date and time, you reduce the randomness.

Oh, I agree completely. That's what I was getting at -- either by some odd chance all the transactions on my account history have no 7s and it really is fair (seems unlikely, since the chances of what I'm seeing are only 2%)... or it's incredibly unfair for precisely the reason you're saying so. I was just playing with the numbers out of curiosity :)

No shill account, just never had a reason to post before. Believe it or not this is the first time I've won the lottery. ;)
-
The hash (since it's a hash function) actually is (essentially) random (in the distribution of the output values).
As was discussed here:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=93180.msg682341#msg682341
Using the output of a hash function for these purposes is equivalent to using a pseudo-random number generator.
If that's not the case in your sample set SS, I think that's more indicative of the size of your set than the distribution of the values.
Variances will occur. We shouldn't be down over 30BTC in the first few hours, but we are. However as the game continues we should approach the limit of the house edge.
-
I'm turning into a loser very fast...
-

Gotcha.
Yeah, if the transaction ID isn't truly pseudo-random, that's bad, because some accounts will always underperform, because they will contribute to hashes that tend not to have 7s. Then again, some accounts will overperform, which means theoretically you could game the system. After all, new buyer accounts are free. :)

So I'll have to play a thousand times to confirm this. :)

SS, astor, we really are aiming for fairness. I agree with your math, SS, that there is approx 2% chance of having no 7s in six tx ids. However I think that was just chance.
I have a long list of tx ids with every number seemingly represented.
If you want I can attach the last 50 or 100 transaction ids. By all means subject them to a statistical analysis. You can even ask some people who have played to identify whether one of their ids is in the list.
No scams here. The nature of gambling doesn't require scams -- we have a house edge. It would be supremely wasteful to spend 500 USD on a vendor account just to ruin it by scamming for 2$ orders.
-
Spend like 60$ won once. so I am like -$35
Overall I won $120 today however I think there is something with my account generating more 5's at the end than 7's
Going to play tomorrow.

This thread is not discussing Silk Road. This thread is offering a product, namely the ability to gamble.
Please lock this thread and post it again in the appropriate sub-forum(product offers).

I just WON ;D

He's technically right about that. We assume that random means a uniform but unpredictable distribution of all outcomes, but that's often a clear signature of nonrandomness. Randomness involves bunching of values/outcomes. Read this:
http://www.empiricalzeal.com/2012/12/21/what-does-randomness-look-like/
I agree that six plays isn't enough to make a firm conclusion, which is why I joked about playing a thousand times.

did it as a joke while I was on mXe.... ended up winning and just sat there in confusion while the BTC was sent to my account.. !!! haha legit and fun

Promote sport bets.

Such a great idea!
-
Bookmarked. Going to buy some coins next week just to play this. Now I don't even have to drive to the casino to gamble and I can trade my winnings (or what I managed to have left after yanking myself away from gambling) for fucking druuuugs! Lol. Great idea, this will be a lot of fun!
-
My golden rule of casino playing is: "never spend more than half of your winnings to make it worthwhile." Never spend all your winnings if you don't want to feel frustrated. For instance, I won something like 27 dollars yesterday, invested 12 in bets, lost them and kept the rest to buy 100mg of 2CB. Happy with that.
-
I played earlier today and won 4BTC. Was in my account within 5 mins.
Pretty cool.

Just to be clear with everyone, we make immediate payoffs as long as we're logged in to SR (which is most of the day). But it may take up to a few hours if we're sleeping or otherwise occupied.
Ultimately we'd like to have a bot to handle payouts. We're looking into that, but it's super dangerous and we need to do more than a fair bit of testing before we put one into place, lest we flash crash the SRGC.

Well there's the last puzzle piece for me, high five to the vendors who put this together. OMG! They have 99¢ games! What a great place to spend loose change +1

You sound competent enough yourself, but if you're serious, I could probably take care of that for you without any trouble. For like 0.2% of whatever you get or something. Just pointing out that it's what I do if you aren't familiar enough or don't have the time yourself, that's all :)
-
I think the odds on most of these are generally insulting. There is no need for you to tip the scales in your favor so hard.
My similar game has odds that are so much better.

Is that like how the "great way to buy bitcoins" listing you have is just a link to a vendor's account, and not even your own work?
-
You mean my listing that provides everything it promises? A way to buy BTC for under 4%? Anyways I have discontinued that listing as it was a limited time thing.
-
You mean my listing that provides everything it promises? A way to buy BTC for under 4%? Anyways I have discontinued that listing as it was a limited time thing.
That's like an EBay listing that promises a picture of a cellphone, and costs $100. It delivers everything it promises... that doesn't make it honest. Selling a link to a vendor's profile, really?
Personally, I don't think you deserve to keep your vendor-status given the bullshit you pulled with that. Scamming is scamming, even if it's just for a dollar or two.
-
Exactly how does that analogy make any sense? The listing delivered everything it promised. A way to get BTC for under 4%. You act as if for $1 you would be able to get some info that wasn't available somewhere else? People pay for info all the time in the real world.
It's odd if it was such a scam how nearly everybody who bought it was more than pleased. Sounds really congruent with a scam.
A year ago when I was on SR I would of loved to come across this listing. Pay 1$ to save the hundreds I was paying at 10% to get btc. Sure the info is available elsewhere but why would you buy it if you knew a better way already?
-

There was a guy selling game console boxes on eBay for like $100. People who didn't read the listing carefully thought it was a steal... until they received an empty box. :)

"Give a refund to those who don't like being lied to, take the money from those who don't care enough to cause a stink."
Gotcha, I understand your morals now. :)

No, just everyone isn't an uptight douche like you who has nothing to do but sit on a forum all day and argue semantics over a dollar. Did you ever learn what quotation marks are used for. A quote. That was not a quote as no one said that and you didn't properly cite it.

I'm already using quote tags, so clearly I wasn't quoting you. ... I'm not actually sure how you missed that, to be honest. I mean, the quote was right above. Am I really an uptight douche? Maybe the problem is you. :)

There are plenty of ways to get BTC for no fee's what so ever.
;D
I've got a few friends who have figured that one out. ;)
Though... there is a one-time fee. But after that, it doesn't matter if it is $1 or $1M!
Maybe I should be charging people for that advice. Just pay me $1 and I'll tell you or anyone how to open a vendor account. :D
-
So what are all of you saying? If I open a vendor account I can get BTC's for 4% fee or are you saying if I sell shit on SR I can get BTC's and pay SR a 4% cut of my sales?
-
This guy got 172 transactions in the first 36 hours of taking orders and 0 in the last 12 hours. Almost like he was padding his stats.
Oh look! Almost every single one of his feedbacks says Leave feedback here. Including well over 60 in a row at one point. Crazy not one person in 60 orders decided to change the default feedback option to anything.

I was selling Info on how to get btc from a vendor on SR for less than 4%. The vendor was in stealth so without someone directly telling you, you couldn't see his listing. A few people who sit on the forums all day got really butthurt about this even though only 7 people bought the just 1 dollar listing. The vendor eventually unstealthed so I removed the listing. Oh also everyone who bought the listing gave me 5/5 feedback.

Sending a message saying. I was wondering why you were unsatisfied with my listing, then one saying hello? then a third saying I can offer you a full refund is you were unsatisfied.
Really harassment. I don't understand why you have made it your personal mission to try to harass me everywhere I go on the forums. I'm sorry you didn't like my listing. I thought it was a decent idea. I have literally removed it due to your harassment. Can you stop now? For christ sakes get a life.

In that case, the problem is merely reversed. The real winners are the exchanges / exchangers who charge twice for the same coins. :)

Hey since you seem to feel so passionately about stopping scammers why don't you look into my claims that the OP is a vendor. Isn't a little odd what I pointed out in a previous post?

OP definitely has a vendor account. I guess that would make your claims accurate, yes? If you mean to say that OP has two vendor accounts, then there is no way to look into that from where I'm sitting, because the only things I can look into is the publicly available information.
I never looked into anything, noopept. CrazyBart revealed what you were selling, then he posted in the same thread to say he got 4 messages in 12 hours from you, and that the number of messages was the reason he changed his feedback. I'm just keeping that knowledge at the fore-front of our interactions, that's all. CrazyBart, by his own words, changed the feedback because of your messages, and not in a good way.

And now you're operating... what? A poorly explained sports book with no way to guarantee payouts and no evidence you have any money to pay to winners anyway.
We have sold over 60 items in the past 36 hours.

My inability to pay a few people in a timely manner because someone bet 100x ($1000) the max bet in my listing and I had the balls to pay him even though I'm such a scammer and in the listing it said I reserved the right to cancel the order. I could of just took the money and ran right? Anyways how does that negate the fact that you have over 60 transactions on the same listing in a row with the same feedback. No one in 60 people bothered to change the feedback?
How did you manage to do the same amount of business on your new account eddie in the first 24 hours as you did in weeks on your other account?

I bet thrice with the Gaming Commission and I got bored of changing the feedback by the third time. Fuck knows if I was going to buy 60 tickets one-by-one, I wouldn't be fucking with the feedback.

Are you talking about us?
You, noopept, who put up a gambling game to compete with eddie's and then couldn't pay your winners?

You, noopept, who sold a SCAM listing, "SR Secrets: How to get BTC for 4% max" that was nothing more than a LINK TO AN ACTIVE SR VENDOR YOU AREN'T EVEN AFFILIATED WITH:

You, noopept, who has feedback on your profile RIGHT NOW that says you didn't pay a customer his $45 winnings:

And now you're operating... what? A poorly explained sports book with no way to guarantee payouts and no evidence you have any money to pay to winners anyway.
We have sold over 60 items in the past 36 hours.

Hello everyone I'm Noopept, a vendor that specializes in gambling and lottery listings.
Who does not have $45 in his vendor account?
SRGC keeps no less than 30BTC in the account for payoffs AT ALL TIMES. Why? Because we'd be assholes if we didn't.

I see who i'll be betting with next time. i mean cummon 45 bucks.. supposedly its cuz everyone who loses keeps their losing transaction in escrow. But seems like people wouldn't fuck up their auto-finilazation rates over a 1.19 listing.
