Title: How to 'clean' a folder and some files for distribution?
Post by: GaylordeFokker on December 27, 2012, 12:12 am
I've written a few PDF's which also have .txt files as an accompaniment and I would like to know how I can remove any hidden data from them? I am planning to distribute them and while the content isn't really that illegal I would still not like to leave a trail of crumbs in the original files if possible. Is there a way to 'blank' folders and files so the authors name and other tags aren't available to anyone?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks.

The Metadata Anonymisation Toolkit will remove metadata from PDFs, but the library they use to do this creates huge PDFs (like 10 times bigger) as output. You may have better luck with it though.
