Title: Bitinstant to bitcoinQT
Post by: monrovia on December 19, 2012, 10:57 pm
I know bitinstant changes your USD to BTC when you send it straight to your SR wallet, but I'm curious about whether they do the same if you have your USD sent straight to a bitoinQT offline wallet... Any info is appreciated.

Of course. They convert USD to BTC. That's their service. What else would they send to a bitcoin address? :)

Well, the only reason I ask is because I've had my money sent to other bitcoin addresses and it came in the form of USD. I think I have used bitstamp and one other bitcoin trading website that they give as an option to send to when making the bitinstant order. The thing is though, I selected those websites from the drop down menu and entered my account number. I guess if you select a bitcoin website and enter your account number that they send cash, but if you enter a bitcoin address(even if that address is for one of the websites you can pick from the menu) they convert the USD to BTC.

Sorry, I've only sent to a bitcoin address once, all the other times my bitinstant funds came in as USD.
