Title: Bitcoin wallet on Linux
Post by: flakjacket1 on November 29, 2012, 01:56 am
Im using Liberte and was wondering if theres a bitcoin wallet application compatible with Linux and how I keep it installed? Do you save the app in the persist directory?
If not is it ok just to deposit BTC straight into a instawallet ?

Bump
Am I missing something here. Do Linux users use a wallet or just transfer straight into mtgox-instawallet? Any help is appreciated.

You would want to use an light wallet like Electrum. The bitcoin-qt client downloads the entire block chain which is approaching 3 GB. You would have to store that locally or re-download it every time you start Liberte, so it's not meant for a Live OS. I recommend the blockchain.info ewallet, which is the most secure.
