As of 400 UTC there are 76 blocks to go before the mining reward halves. That should happen in 14 hours, or around 1800 UTC.
Will the price of bitcoins rise because the rate of increase of supply will slow? Maybe. It sounds like a good time to grab some last minute coins.
Either way, break out some champagne or a pill or a line for the first major milestone in bitcoin's history. :)

And it just happened 12 minutes ago. We hit block 210,000. BTC trading at $12.30.
