Actually, if the firewall was blocking Tor, there should be no circuits that say Open, Closed, or anything. It would say instead, with no relays listed. So it's likely he is connected to the Tor network. coglac, this will take forever if you give us one data point per day. I'd like you to go through a list of things and answer all the questions below. If you're doing this on a different computer, write all this down. First, as kmf suggested, make sure the time AND time zone are correct. On Win8 you should be able to use the search function to search for "change time" and the option will come up. If they are wrong, change the time zone first, then change the time. If the time is right but the time zone is wrong, then when you correct the time zone, the time will be wrong. Make sure they are both right before moving on. Also, check the option to "synchronize to network time server" or something like that. Open these and have them ready: onion icon -> Network Map onion icon -> Message Log -> Advanced tab 1. In TorBrowser, try to access google.com. If it connected, great. Move to step 2. If it didn't, look in the Message Log. Are there any error messages? What are they? Write the whole error message down and post it here. Then, try to access google.com again, but watch the Network Map. Do you see a lot of circuits that are Failed? What words do you see for the circuits? The options will be Building, Open, Connecting, Closed, Failed. 2. In TorBrowser, try to access this forum. If it connected, obviously problem solved (probably the time issue). If it didn't, look in the Message Log. Are there any error messages? What are they? Write the whole error message down and post it here.
