He isn't linked to Privnote. I'm just saying, people who post their addresses on Privnote are exposing themselves to that threat. It's a third party site. You don't know who runs it or if they are trustworthy. They could be the next assholes to post addresses all over the forum.

@ all (DEALER!! and customer): learn PGP!!!!!!!

CAN´T BELIEVE, THAT SOME VENDORS STILL DON´T USE PGP (but privnote); IT SHOULD BE A MUST WHEN CREATING A VENDOR-ACCOUNT!!!

You know, it is entirely possible that infowars is the Privnote admin. I think that's extremely unlikely. Privnote seems legit, but you never know when it might go rogue. This is why PGP encrypting your address on your own computer is the only acceptable way to transmit your address to a vendor.

Let's just go with Yes.

Some updates merely update the version numbers of the TBB components, but some include fixes for critical security vulnerabilities (like that websockets thing last year), but most people aren't going to check the blog to see what the update is for. So to stay safe, just update immediately every time.

Encryption isn't going to help if a vender goes rogue, I mean, what if they just keep every address they've sent to written down or saved somewhere? There's a certain degree of trust that we as buyers must give to vendors, but at the end of the day, if they want to be shitheads, they can...

Yeah, that's why I said assuming it was taken from a phished account. But you're right, a vendor could do this on top of the traditional exit scam, and in that case, it could be much worse if they collect hundreds of addresses over a long time period.

FYI, that info is from last year. There's a good chance that the vendor and most of the buyers aren't around anymore.

831
Assuming that info was taken from a phished or hacked vendor account, it's a stark reminder to always encrypt your address.

What do you think DPR stands for?  The Democratic People's Republic of Awesome.

Yeah, it sounds like he's using a regular browser. He searches for the SR URL and clicks a Google link which is an onion.to link.

phantom you need to download the Tor Browser Bundle from here: https://www.torproject.org/download/download-easy.html.en

835
Ah yeah, check.torproject.org has been down all day. I didn't get an error message, it just didn't connect.

Obviously if you're on a hidden service like this forum, Tor is working for you.

836
Looks like your wish came true. Sort by price was just added.

837
This is a message on SR?

Do you get any error messages in onion icon -> Message Log -> Advanced?

Are you absolutely sure it isn't adding www. to the beginning of the address? You need to remove that.

3 or 4 months. Can't remember the exact number, but it's one of those.

When you send a packet, it gets stamped with the number 127, and each router that it passes through decreases it by one. When it reaches zero, the Time To Live has expired and the packet is no longer forwarded anywhere. This feature was implemented because people thought internet packets might get stuck in loops, so if they don't reach their destination in 128 hops, they are killed.

I've seen TTL expired errors when there's a routing issue, like when two routers keep sending the packets back and before between each other until the TTL expires. Not sure what would be causing it for you.
