Title: How long does it typically take for a SR->SR bitcoin transfer?
Post by: mrorion on June 05, 2012, 08:14 am
I purchased some bitcoins from another member, who I'm assuming had a balance in their own account and sent some to mine. It's been almost 4 hours though and they haven't shown up yet.

Does it normally take this long??

You got scammed dude. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

There were a couple people yesterday who received theirs, so I don't think he's scamming me. It does seem like he's misleading me though.... he accepted the transfer 4 hours ago, so I should have received my bitcoins soon after that? WTF.

Sounds like you're getting selectively scammed. 4 hours is way too long. Has he ignored you since it transferred? If so it's possible he fell asleep and didn't get to your transfer request, but if you continue not hearing from him for another 4-8 hours I would PM SR admin with a log of your PM's to each other to try and get it resolved.

He replied a couple times afterwards, mentioned the delay with 'interact' but he already accept the transfer, so it did confuse me a bit.. I thought maybe he was referring to the transfer to SR but I also thought he already had a balance... I sent another message, but I'm pretty sure the guy's asleep now so hopefully it gets sorted in the 'morning'. I'm a bit peeved though, I was hoping to get an order in tonight so I'd have it by the weekend.. doesn't look like that's gonna happen now.

Anyway, thanks for the replies.

Issue was resolved. Something went wrong with the transfer, but was fixed.

I was going to say, either he just got hung up and didn't want to admit it, or there was an issue with SR's bitcoind.

It's been happening a lot less lately, but SR's bitcoin platform has had issues in the past and transactions have gone missing and had to be tracked down and such.  Glad to hear it all worked out for you though :)
