Title: Lottery 100g Swazi Budz
Post by: Mr Gold on May 28, 2012, 11:26 am
We are thinking of running a lottery for 100g Swazi buds.
Is anyone interested at $5.00 a ticket with a max 100 tickets.
How is this normally done?
Advice would be greatly appreciated.

You'll have a hard time selling 100 tickets.
how about 25 tickets, 15$ each?

OK that sounds easy.
Now all we need to do is decide on the number of tickets.
The normal price for 100g is $550 to make it very attractive we are offering $350.00 for the current stock.
So I was thinking 35 tickets at $10.00
Does that sound good?

Thats cool, how does he choose the number?
I think he uses a random number generator like random.org, then he encrypts that number with PGP and posts the encrypted message at the start of the lotto.
Once the tickets have been sold he gives out the private key so everyone can check the number and there can be no cheating.

Wow, that is god damn genius.

I used to frequent a watch forum that had these kinds of raffles who also used random.org, but the number was always drawn at the end of the raffle.

Ok I am ready to list

35 tickets at $10.00
25 tickets at $15.00
18 tickets at $20.00

What do you think is best?

Hi, may I know your intention of having a lotto? It takes a real long time, possibly 3 weeks at least to finish selling your tickets. When vendors use lotto, it is more of a bonus product, they wouldn't normally use it to set off a sale.

If you hope to sell fast I suggest you provide tracking for your shipment. I think a lotto would be unnecessary. Because you are new, and have 0 transaction thus far. And also your amount of products is at a 100g, what to gain trust on both ends, other than using tracking for your products?

I have seen many kinds of vendors, and hope my suggestion would be of help to your sales.

Tracking means that customers will have to sign for the package. I personally wouldn't want to do that...

The intended idea is that potential clients have a low risk way of getting some of our product.
We will then get reviews and more sales.
Thats why I am asking what is the right amount to pitch at so people are happy to take a chance.

Doing my once-every-week-or-two search of my username to see if there's any nastiness out there, just wanted to say thanks to the compliments on my lotto system?  I think it's the most transparent way to do it, and keeps everything above board.

PLUS, I use a completely separate account called "Anarcho47Lotto", so my stats don't get padded up.... I think that's the only acceptable way to do it, if you're going to.

Thanks for that.
You invented a good system.
We have not decided to do it yet so people don't think we am padding .
We will do the same and do a lotto with a new account later when it is less busy..
Nice to hear from you ;-)
