While installing the latest bundle, I noticed the "donate" section, and thought I'd investigate if they took BTC. Their site (here: torproject.org/donate/donate.html.en) says, "Instead of donating bitcoins to Tor, please consider a donation to Torservers.net, which will turn your bitcoin donation into a faster, larger Tor Network for all."
That's something I think we can all agree is worth financing. If you have a few coins to spare, and you've already tossed some in the wallets of the forum mods, consider donating to them to TorServers. Their help keep this place running.
More info about TorServers from their site:
"We are a registered charitable non-profit organization based in Germany. All donations will be used in accordance to our statute to advance secure communications for the general public. If you donate more than $50 monthly, you are entitled to get your very own Tor exit node: Contact us and we'll set up a node carrying a name of your choice, with a custom info page (if desired)!"
TorServer's wallet address is:

(don't just take my word for it, you don't know me; proof of this address and the above information at: torservers.net/donate.html)

Always a good idea. Think of it as pitching in to keep our street quality up in this anarcho-capitalist corner of the webs.

Fantastic, I'm glad I could inspire that!

Donating to the Tor Servers project is NOT donating to the TOR Project, nor it's development. The Tor Project won't see a penny of this money. Tor Servers is a completely separate project that purportedly helps increase the bandwidth of the Tor service, and nothing more.
The Tor Project, interestingly enough, does not accept bitcoin donations.
Cheers!

Yeah, I thought that would be obvious from my OP. I even included the quote from the Tor Project's site, where they ask that you donate BTC to Tor Servers. I guess a more accurate title would have been "Consider donating to help keep Tor running smoothly."

Thanks for the heads up on this shit. When my pin is reset, I'll send them a little. I'm poor, can't afford much, but I adore tor.
Trippyskies + Tor = Love

I have just donated my spare Bitcoin change to the Torservers project and don't need to tell you all how vital it is, I would urge you all to give what you can.

I'm a big fan of the whole "Mod donation" thing....but hey....that's just me... :P

Do you think it would be safe to put a wallet address in your signature? Perhaps it's too much of a giveaway given that it'll be associated with your user ID? :-D

Lol I actually would but 1. I don't have any space left and 2. I can't be arsed with any of that "Oh yeah you stole my BTC so I can do a lovely scam because my name is USDirect" bullshit. :P
