Title: Independent vendor product ranking
Post by: afflatus on December 21, 2011, 02:50 am
I would like to see an independent vendor ranking system so the buyer could identify the reliable vendors.
The system would work like this.

1. SR would collect, from ALL buyers, an additional fee for each purchase (1-5 BC?).
2. The fee would be used to make random purchases from vendors, as well as provide for admin costs.
3. SR would direct those purchases to an evaluator(s)(unknown to buyers or vendors) in a double blind fashion.
4. The results would be posted back to SR.

The vendors would not know what buyer is doing the testing and the evaluator(s) would not know the source vendor he/she is evaluating.

This might make some more money for SR and provide a better service to the buyer and ultimately to the vendor's credibility.

What do you think?

Oh....I know the forum mod's are testing, but what do you think the vendor's are going to send them? :)

dude i take it you got scammed by cfmf or something and that sucks, but that was your fault, you went outside of escrow like 10,000 topics here tell you not to do.  you propose these grand solutions to the scamming problem when the solution is already here, its called escrow its what this site was built on.  and guess what you wont get scammed again if you use it. so instead of posting these unnecessary topics do some research on the site.

Never went out of escrow myself. The product is crap. I am not crying about the money. I did not spend anything I could not lose.
I simply would like to have a better chance at getting what I ordered, not junk.
That is the purpose of this topic. Escrow does not fix the that problem. Maybe an independent review would help vendors to deliver at least a good product.

Any vendor worth his salt has a forum topic up where his buyers can post reviews.  Keep in mind these are buyers - they already have their product, they have no other incentive to patronize the seller.  Usually the reviews are honest, maybe a bit subjective, but will cover the buying experience in general.  At minimum there is always a mention of product quality.

Just do your homework.  If you want to set something up like this why not get together with some buyers and take some action yourself.  You could be a "critic" and wear a black turtleneck while you type up your reviews, using too many words and too many pessimistic adjectives.  Only the very best of the best would be worth your "acceptable" rating.

An independent review???  Like a secret shopper program?  Are you serious???  We have a review system in place already....actually a couple of them.  Buyer feedback on every order is the first....heck you can even adjust it later if you can't sample immediately so you don't hold up finalizing.  The other independent review is what you are reading right now...The FORUMS.  Yeah you might have to figure out who is legit and who is NOT...but it's all here in front of you for YOU to figure out.   Can't find an answer???  Ask a good question and it's usually answered in a very short time by someone...hopefully a knowledgeable member.   No system is perfect but IF YOU STAY IN ESCROW it's pretty hard to go wrong.

then i would say it boils down to the fact that users should give more accurate feedback.  alot of vendors strive for a 5/5 but in the end its always up to you what you give them. if you think the product is crap then by all means give him a 3/5 feedback (i think 1/5 should be reserved for scammers) and if he makes a deal with you to change the feedback well then that is between you.    we are supposed to police ourselves, thats part of the beauty of SR. the feedback system and escrow are the two protections that buyers have, and they should both be fully utilized.

though if there ever is a job opening for SR drug tester im sure you would have and endless supply applicants ;)

Yes I agree 1000% that the users should give the vendors the feedback they deserve. But there is a very important flaw here. The vendors have the buyers address. I think that the buyers WILL NOT follow through for that justified reason.
That is why an independent review may be more effective.

Thanks for listening though :)

I have followed the forums for months. I have followed the escrow advice to the letter. The product delivered does not live up to what is on the forums.
I think I am already a "critic". Look what happens. SR would have to do it to have any credibility. :)

Well, if the overall community is vetting products and you still aren't happy, then I would think that the situation being a "me versus everyone else" kind of negates this issue.  Obviously your personal standards are different than the average consumer (I hope you are rich, because if not it's a long life).

I wish I was rich :)
Maybe I just ran into the perfect storm of bad cola. Who knows. But if you see what is happening to the top Cola vendors
you might consider my points with some interest.
The reason for this post is to save money for the buyers and highlight and support the good vendors.

Ah, well I haven't been following the coke vendors - not really my thing.

That's too bad because we had a really good run from shortly after I got here for at least a few solid months.  What's changed?

Around Dec 2, when the .onion url changed, CFMF(one of the top cola vendors) started acting different. Another vendor, GJ, followed suit.
Now there are reports that both of them are asking people to send their personal info in the clear or to a different PGP. They claim their old PGP is broken somehow. I have been trying to warn others to stay clear. It appears a hack may have occurred or LE has their computers.

Now other buyers are confirming that they have not received their orders and others are saying the same as me that the cola was crap.
Its a mess right now pretty much sums it up. CFMF's account was closed by SR so there is a real problem. Plenty of other details but that is what is happening right now as far as I can tell.

Huh, I didn't know any of that.

Seems pretty fucked up.  I wonder how something like that was pulled off.  BOTH vendors at the same time, too?

They both have problems. I cannot say for sure they are directly related at this point. But it looks suspicious.
