Yes USPS is slow at the moment. I ordered something off ebay and it got here 4 business days late. Im pretty sure its the holidays.

I am glad this was posted. One of my first deliveries was mailed on the 1st of December and I got it the following Monday, the 5th (woo hoo!). I ordered from the same seller and it was shipped on Wednesday the 7th, but I still have not received it. I thought it would be here maybe Saturday, but definitely today. The seller is reputable and I trust he sent it, so could this just be the delay the post office is having? Does anyone know when I should cut my losses and consider it to not be coming? If this is the case, what usually happens? Thanks so much for any replies.

I am also glad this was posted - I'm in the same boat as you, TulipSniper, and this thread actually popped me out of just being a lurker in the forums to registering. I also ordered from a reputable vendor that I'm sure sent it out, I have no suspicions at all of this vendor as I've ordered a bunch of times before with no hassle, very fast 2 day arrival after being put in transit - but this most recent order is now a full 7 days in transit without arriving. Of course, this makes all of us buyers who find ourselves in this situation nervous...was my package flagged? was it intercepted?, all those horrible kinds of thoughts. But, I order a lot from ebay and amazon marketplace sellers too, partly to just have a flood of packages coming to the address (seriously, there are a ton of books and CD's for a penny plus 3 or 4 bucks shipping, and I think it's clever to have all kinds of packages mailed to the address you use for SR vendors, some look professional, some don't, helps everything blend together better - plus you get some some books or dvd's or cd's to enjoy while you're high - ha!).
Anyway - my point is that, yeah, I think it's the holidays slowing things down because I'm still receiving other packages....just not the ONE I WANT! haha. So, I'm trying to chill, relax and just hope it arrives in the next day or two...it's frustrating to think "OK, it's going to be there today" and it's not, and it gets worse as each day passes, and then after a long, sober weekend and my package not being there in today's (Monday's) mail just really sank my heart. Hang in there, TulipSniper, your post gave me a little bit of comfort knowing I'm not the only one going through this and thinking the same things...

That USPS press release is basically saying that the ongoing closure of post offices is suspended while the holiday rush is on.
Not surprising really, that they don't want to be closing POs in the middle of their busiest, most profitable period.
I guess the closure and general decline of the USPS will continue unabated once the holidays are over :(

yea the USPS is being slow right now some orders i have mail out to ppl are late, and the DCN said missent is why it like 2 or 3 days late. i google missent and it looks like it happens ever now and then to all mail. so dont think they found out what is in side. more they just put it in the wrong box or whatever they do.

I've got two in-state mailings (about 6 hours away) and the DCN says delivery expected Dec 10th, 2011. Today is December 12th and one has been sitting for two days at the same sort facility and the other got to the same sort facility after going through two random side track cities.
All I know is that when these things get here, I'm going to make myself a huge effin line to celebrate.

ordered two shipments of the same (larger) volume from two separate NL vendors on the same day (Holiday experiment). One arrived 7 business days, and the other still not arrived....soonest now would be 9 days. The interesting thing is the one that arrived is from Aakoven, which always arrives quick and the other is from Blaatz0r who I do not have any experience with. To be honest, I was surprised AA's already arrived and am not worried yet about the second. Although it is funny how your brain stresses about it.

It isn't usually, but the post seems to be particularly awful this year. I have Christmas cards that were sent 1st class that have taken a week so far, when 1st class should only take 1 business day from being picked up.

bleh, 75% of my shipments have been taking 2-4 days longer than usual (2-3 days) and less than half of my DCN#'s are actually registering on tracking sites. I'm glad I'm finally taking a break and getting out of town this year

Thanks for the reply. I was expecting to wait longer and am now mentally prepared to do so although you never know, it can arrive earlier but I will not hold my breath. It sounds like a few people are in the same boat.

Not wanting to brag or anything, but I just got a package yesterday that only took 70 hours DE to UK, including a Saturday and Sunday. I was worried that I would have a dry Christmas after reading this thread so I am glad Sesampino came through. I have one on the way from Tetravort so we shall see how long that one takes.

I have had legitimate parcels go missing between US and UK for up to two months before, even when using Global Priority Mail. This time of year doesnt help at all, it seems a lot of trans-atlantic stuff is fucked up at the moment.

i think you'll be ok mate, more than likely the shitty postal service. even if you ain't ok, TV should still sort it out for you
i know - easy to say when you are waiting for your xmas stash - CFMF burnt me for $2 grams so i've had to shave the cost of certain peoples xmas prezzies to get some gear from my local dealer. at least you didn't buy from CFMF!

I've been waiting for some NL, UK > US packages for about 2 weeks now...about a week longer than usual. Hopefully I get them before NYE! I've used these vendors several times before without a hitch so I'm chalking it up to the post sucking ass.

I am UK based and am waiting anxiously for a package that I ordered from TV on the 11th. Just read, on TV`s feedback page that a UK based customer received his product in 10 days where normally US to UK delivery is 4/5 days.
In theory we should be receiving our christmas goodies any day now....in theory god and Postman Pat willing.

That's the most logical way of doing things but then you don't get to take advantage of the amazing xmas offers on SR you get!

I refunded a client that waited so long there was nothing I could do. Then he PM's me and tells me the delivery took 4 weeks (most FC is running 3-5 days). He was such a gentlemen that he sent me the BTC's back.
Now that is a freaking great human there and I hope your Karma pays you back 10X!
Nice story. I'm still waiting for an order shipped exactly a month ago. Vendor probably thinks I'm trying to scam him, communication became very scarce when resolution time came. One thing I want for X-mas this year is to find that big parcel in my box.. :/

I ordered extra stuff during holiday season on purpose. I know it will take longer but the odds are in my favor that it WILL get here. Those guys dont have time to take a pee during the holidays.

Just adding my experience. Currently have 4 US sourced packages on their way to the UK. Two are completely legitimate, other two are various sweeties and candies for the festive season. All have so far failed to arrive.
The earliest (legitimate) package was dispatched with USPS International Mail 'tracking' on the 28th - made it's way to the Hollywood,CA sorting facility on or about the 3rd. That's the last update.
My point is; everything is slow - it's Christmas. I'd put a BTC on it that the reason for most of the delay is the wall of mail awaiting clearance in Mount Pleasant Customs facility in the UK. Any country not in the 'euro-zone' that has mail routed through this facility is undoubtedly going to be delayed, while the one and only sniffer dog does his rounds and the staff try and working out which packages they can add import duty too.
If you are (like me) waiting, based on past experience there is a very good chance your package is A) Not seized B) Not lost C) Just sitting a the bottom of a mini Mt Everest of mail. Don't be disappointed if you don't see anything before the second week of January when normality starts to return.

You would think Belgium to France would be fairly quick....BUT at this time of year anything is possible. Don't panic yet. My AH made it in just over 10 days Belgium to USA but I think I got lucky cause that's pretty quick during peak holiday mailing season.
You would think Europe to Europe would be faster but who can say.........

I think Belgium to France could take a really long time due to all the people sending presents and ordering stuff for Christmas. In both countries they speak french so this creates more connections/relationships between people . The exchanges are very frequent between those counties in my opinion.
If we think about it that way, it's normal.
An order shipped from UK made it to France in 5 days this month.
I can't wait to smoke this crazy weed ! Haha! lucky guy...

that is somewhat assuring, but some of us are at 5 day delays already. it really seems like any orders from NL area are taking waaaaaay long. mine is coming from NL also. so to everyone ordering from NL area, i think we may have a possible 10 business day delay. i still dont understand how people that ordered after me have already received their order? that is the part that blows my mind. still, i really do believe its just the holidays slowing things down a lot. another thing is for the last 2 days my vendor has not responded to my messages about nothing coming in. im assuming he is just not responding as he believes that it is just taking longer that usual. he did tell me that some of his shipments have been taking up to 15 business days to get finalized, an that would be before my order. so it very well could take even longer for some of us. if you really think about it, its not surprising it takes this long. cause think about all those x-mas cards from grandma and all the x-mas presents that are ALL getting mailed right now. if you sit an really think about how much x-mas shit is getting mailed right now, it shouldnt really surprise us that its taking this long. come on guys...........chime in a bit. i would really like to hear what everyone else story is. cause like everyone else, the more delays i see from others the more assurance i have that its just cause the holidays. i mean it cant be a coincidence that such a large group of us are having really long delays, no way its coincidence. so i feel a lot better after seeing this lol.

For US, there are some major cutbacks in the works for USPS and I'm sure they a trial-running shipments that are skirting potential shut-down sorting centers to see which ones will make the most sense to cut.
Last I heard it's 28,000 layoffs and about 30% of sorting centers to be closed soon.

ive been waiting for something i need that was supposedly shipped on the 12th, and i fuckin hope so because i've been checking the mailbox religously, feeling like a fuckin tweeker. xmas is gonna suck being dopesick cause USPS sucks cock, thank god i paid $9 to have it shipped priority, which now means 2-3 weeks apparently. i wonder where the term "going postal" came from....?

still nothing for me yet. iv been waiting about 15 business days now. not sure why some people are getting there shipments on time or just a couple days late an the rest of us are looking at 2 week delays? that makes absolutely no sense to me? i would wait another week before you really start to panic bro. i keep hearing from everyone that there are major delays for x-mas, especially in the US.

I'm also experiencing delays in shipment from the NL. It's been 17 days since shipment. Hopefully it comes in today so I can have it for new years. I'm in the same boat as a lot of you. If not, I will update when I do receive it. As people have mentioned, there are big cutbacks in the USPS workforce as well as facilities being shut down in the worst time possible, so we can probably thank them for our packages being dismally late.

Never received letter from back in December and now the seller is on vacation or something. Kind of bummed and hope when they get back, they will rectify the situation as I never received a customs letter and have since received a few letters from different parts of the US.

Nope, this was from someone else. With a really good reputation, and I'm not going to slam them on the forums until they have a chance to rectify the situation when they get back. If they continue to blow me off then I'll make it a point to say something. Im in your boat exactly but from the NL to Scandinavia..
Ordered a while ago (early Feb) , and have received one out of three orders (packages wasn't sent on the same day, or even week).
No letters, phonecalls whatsoever from the Customs though. :-\

I've been alright recently. Ordered hash from DutchShop, it was marked as in transit Wednesday night and got here Saturday morning.
