Title: my predicament
Post by: teeth90 on November 02, 2011, 07:38 pm
this will be my first transaction from the sr. i have ordered from the open market before. i will be using get-bitcoin.com and i'll use the wells fargo cash deposit option. from there i plan on transferring the coins to my friends bitcoin address then have him forward them to my sr account. i already have a po box opened in the next city over that nothing has been shipped to ever. i opened it last week completely legitimately with a real name and id and all however the box i opened is only 3x5.5 inches. tomorrow or the next day i plan on buying a couple beans from a vendor in NL and a few pills from a vendor in the US, where i live. i plan on shipping them to my po box with my real name. if anyone with any experience sees any red flags i'd be grateful for the advice.

Hmm, If I had to criticize anything it would be the P.O. Box in your name.  If possible I would simply tumble the btc from your account into a couple of online wallets and then to SR instead of going through your friend.  Then you could ship the package to your buddy who was previously filtering the btc for you.  This way there will be no tie to the transactions that took place and the address it's being delivered to.  This way if the cops do search his computer they will find no evidence of the transaction.  This is of course assuming your friend is alright with receiving the package...

I also would recommend using your actual address and name.

You have serious plausible deniability this way - anybody could send anything to your home address by doing a simple google or 411 search.  But a PO Box in your name removes plausible deniabilityi.

Someone on here just got busted a few days ago for having something delivered to a PO Box.

If you are super paranoid, when you receive a package you know is illicit, take a magic market and write "Return to Sender" across it, and leave it somewhere by the door.  that way if anything were to happen you can just say "oh, well I didn't know what this was so I thought I'd better return it".

Other than that seems good.  If you are using reputable vendors you should have no issues either way since their packaging methods are at least pretty good.  But unknowns can sometimes do sloppy jobs packaging, which leads to all other sorts of complications...

You might want to have a look on this site for a forum post here http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=4850.0 and this guy had a PO box that royally busted him because of dodgy packaging.

I would say a PO box is your only main problem because it does have your real name and id attached to it and you have to sign to get the stuff out.
