Being from the UK I would like to display the Bitcoin to USD conversion in GBP instead. It would help a lot as I buy my coins in GBP so I already know what the price is/should be any given day. I assume the current price API you use accommodates other currencies? Would this be hard to implement?

good point! I have the same prob but with EURO :) Always have to have a calculator prog opend and do the math :P

You can select which currency you want to display, and it shows all of the exchanges that carry your currency and the BTC exchange rate.
It's a lot easier than manually finding the USD forex rate to your local currency and converting to bitcoins lol.

I got an idea that would help a lot... but it certainly requires a fair amount of programming time.
First of all, I'm not a seller, and I'm new to this site (I paced my first orders a few days ago), and I'm still discovering it, so maybe what I'm proposing is completely useless, or too complex, but I'll still say it.
Since the value of the bitcoin is fluctuating very much over time, it must be a pain in the ass for sellers to regularly update their prices to match their real-world currencies, as it appears to be in this post. The ideal solution would be to be able to choose which currency the seller uses (this part is certainly complex, I see that only USD is supported right now; it would be a start).
Another option would have to be available : be able to set the price of their items in USD/EURO/... instead of BitCoins.
Then, the price of items in BitCoins could be adjusted automatically every X days/weeks. it would allow prices to always be ~ equivalent to the seller currency.
It's just a start, I know, but it would help both sellers and buyers to always pay/receive the right price for items.

I think it's only available in USD, but sellers already have the option to peg their prices to the USD/BTC exchange rate. You can choose to either have your prices in fixed btc or in fixed USD, and as the rolling moving average of exchange price updates, so do your prices. That feature has been here for as long as I have (which is very nice).
I'm not sure about other currencies.
