Hi,
I'm looking to start developing my currency diversification into BTC now that I think that the floor's pretty much in. I work in the offshore industry and work in areas of privacy technology, 2nd citizenships, offshore structures, and offshore bank accounts.
I still have a few anonymous Maestro cards denominated in USD. Each has a $10K USD limit. These cards have been flying off the shelves, notably in Europe. There are few left out there from any vendor, but I've held 4 back to sell exclusively to the Silk Road community, assuming there's interest.
These cards sell for anywhere between $500USD and $900USD (yes, they're all the same cards...) from various offshore groups. I'm willing to let the first one go for the equivalent of $350USD in BTC to establish a BTC portfolio and vendor fees to Silk Road. The rest will be sold at closer-to-market-rates.
Please let me know if there's an interest. Also, if there is interest in other offshore types of products and services, please comment.
Thanks,
BlackBart

So its a debit card with $10,000 on it and your selling it for $350?

Only Americans would benefit from this. Virtually anybody else in the world that isn't the IRS's bitch can get one of these for a minimal amount <$100 and a small monthly maintainence fee, through several of the international banks.
if it is anonymous a US citizen would benefit as the IRS forces foreign banks to become tax snitches, but anybody else can set this up in a non-disclosure banking district for a lot cheaper and straight from the source.

I offer a similar service at a fraction of the cost

...if the card is loadable with ukash, cc and other various methods; has a 10000$ limit and is anonymous than it is a very good offer, esp. with cc + ukash loading

This is quite interesting. Even for us europeans, as recent laws increased inter-countries fiscal cooperation.
I actually received an email of apology/warning from my non-national bank basically saying "recent laws made is so that we are legally required to transmit your accounts balances to your national's country fiscal services" (basically).
That was quite a few month ago, and that freaked me out because I don't declare my revenues to either my country of residency nor my passport's country. I think I should be fine because I virtually "don't exist" (not registered @ ambassy), but well...
Anyway my job is not important in that matter,
I have a few questions to bart & dexpress:
Is there any sort of expiry date on the card?
What are roughly the fees for money transfer (<1000euros) into the card via WU for exemple, and transactions costs for payement or withdrawal?
If you can answer, which banks or of which country are the card issued from?
Thanks!

Agreed. Like I said this option would make sense for American holders to avert the draconian banking system in that country. However someone outside of the US can find an alternative similar to this for a lot cheaper.

No, that's not the case. It's a debit card that you can load with up to $10,000. With IRS reporting limits at $10K, an American can keep money off the records up to $10K (or, in theory, with multiple cards).
There are no names on the cards - only account numbers. The numbers are not raised, they are recessed (safety feature). Anyone that has the card can use if they know the pin.
The bank is a Caribbean bank with offices in Europe...

Banking transactions are internationally tracked via SWIFT. Anyone can benefit from this, but it's true that Americans probably (marginally) benefit more.

I think this is a bit different. These cards are already ready - no bank is shipping them to the end user. It's not a reference deal with a bank - it took considerable time and cost to set up accounts. I don't need "valid anything" except someplace to ship the card...

Monthly fees are $6.00. I'll send the rest of the info via PM...

Bart, if you need a place to ship the card too, does that address not need to be 'valid'? lol

how do you add funds to the card?

Not really. The buyer just needs a place to pick it up - friend's house, hotel, whatever. I don't care if it's a residence, business - doesn't matter. It's not an issue where I need to know much about the buyer...

Black Bart could you test one of these cards at usps.com to see if you can pay for postage with it?
A lot of us need untraceable ( to us) cards to pay for postage with and the gift cards available at Silk Road here will not work.
Just try to buy a 2 cent or somethin if you would.
I've never tried that. I'll have to give it a go and let you know. It may take a couple of days before I have a few cycles to working it out. This is more of an ATM card, so I'm not confident it will work at usps. I'll report back...
-

Ahh - the key question....
Most commonly, use a wire transfer. Cash at the bank or ATM works. Think of it as an account with an attached debit card - any method you can think of to put cash in the bank could be used. I'll leave it at that...

FYI, this didn't work. You'd have to get the money from an ATM and use cash...
