Title: 17" Apple i7 Macbook Pro 2.3GHz Quad 8gb 500SSD
Post by: electroapple on September 09, 2011, 01:55 am
Hi,

I have received a brand new stock, unopened, of Macbook pro. 17" Apple i7 Macbook Pro 2.3GHz Quad 8gb 500SSD. It was carded and sent to a drop place, so all of the materials you will purchase will come from a safe place (it will NOT be carded and shipped to your house).

The price I am selling it at is $800USD shipping included if it's in USA or CANADA. I ship internationally too, but supplementary fees might apply.

I accept Liberty Reserve payments.

If you want to buy more than one, I will arrange the price; the more you buy, the cheaper the price PER Macbook.

If you are interested, send me a message.

At this moment I have NO other Apple products, just the one mentioned. I have (at this moment) about 25 available. I will let you know when other products will arrive.

Attachement don't work, so I uploaded the photos on imageshack.us.

Serious buyer only.

Thanks.

I do not have a seller account on Silk Road. Maybe in the future but honestly, I like to use Liberty Reserve.

don't leech off SR. If you sell here, do it through escrow.

are carded laptops reported as stolen?
Title: Re: 17" Apple i7 Macbook Pro 2.3GHz Quad 8gb 500SSD

There is no way for them to do anything to you if you have a carded laptop and they know it. You legitely bought it off 2nd hand. The high risk is to purchase it and deliver it to your house, that's why you need a drop address when you card goods. I have a drop address and delivered the laptops to it. So on your side, you have nothing to worry, it's the same as buying from someone else, not your fault if you bought a stolen laptop.

Let's not get into legal details :)
I just wanted to know if they are reported?

you can bet that its reported and they know the serial numbers of these fraudulently purchased hardware. there won't be any warranty.
and you'll never be able to have it serviced by apple or any authorized service.  this is also receiving stolen goods (regardless of what he says)

I would buy one in a second if you were to go through escrow.... A buyers account will only cost you 150 bucks and if you have 25 to sell, well, you see where Im going.. Also, just hedge the price and you wont have to worry about the bitcoin value dropping..

But with an item costing so much, I would have a hard time dropping that much cash, especially knowing where they probably came from..

@experimental333

Yes, it is reported as fraudulent transaction. Usually, like redtide says, you should not receive any service in an apple store, but I've went there
many times and never had any problems. This is receiving stolen goods, but there is nothing they can do about that since you pay for it. Not like you
carded it yourself and dropped at your address, I mean it will most likely be dropped at many miles away from you. The number of laptops being carded
is huge. They cannot deal one by one with this since they are spread around the world.

@chronicpain

I totally understand your point. I never used escrow yet, as I have never used bitcoins really, always dealt with Liberty Reserve. As it's true that I have
about 25 Macbook pro to sell, it's also true that I carded them. I haven't sold a single one yet and am still broke. 150 dollar is a fair price for the
service of being a seller offered on SR, but gotta make some money first as well. I've still got to read more about bitcoins, I know you can mine them with CPU and all, but I don't
know enough about it yet. I understand that it's a lot of money and they've got carded from apple store website, but at least I'm honest about that and wouldn't be selling them if
they would be unusable by my customers. Thanks you for your interest.

counterfeit apple packaging can be purchased online for very cheap. could you open up a box or two and show that there is something residing inside them ?

2 sellers who register and list bunches of Apple products at dirt cheap prices within 2 days of each other ... fairy tale or nightmare ?

PM sent. If your legitimate I have no problem working outside of Bitcoin.

We'll see :)

The profit you could make on 1 of those things alone would pay for 15 sellers accounts !!

Having never used the escrow here how does it work ? I know how escrow in general works but whats the requirement here for payout ? The buyer has to agree to payout the coins ? The seller has to provide proof of delivery to receive ?

Does admin oversee protecting electro in some way should the buyer decide to not finish the transaction and walk away with a $3500 laptop ?

Does the buyer get his bitcoins back automatically or does admin have to approve sending them back ?

If the buyer doesn;t receive the package he can negotiate with the seller. If they don;t reach an agreement, the admin decides. Seller can send package with tracking so he has proof that the package was sent and delivered.

It's pretty safe for both sides.

I don;t think a stolen laptop is worth 3500$... It's stolen goods, if you sell it, you can easily go to jail, so the value on the open market is much, much lower.

OK. thanks for the explanation.

As for the value ... I meant it could tempt people into not completing the transaction and just re registering under a new name. A product of this scale as opposed to an ounce of marijuana would bring that element out perhaps. I was just wondering what sort of protection a seller has. I vend and am gathering all the info I can. Im a total amateur at all things Bitcoin, Silk Road and the way things are done over here.

or send the potential buyer the SN, you can then check to see what components are are in the machine. If he would supply me with the SN, thats all the verification I would need. he doesn't need to publicly display the numbers but If Im going to get it anyways, why not give it to me? I just checked my SN and it tells me exactly whats in my machine and the date of manufacture.  A picture would be nice too of the SN from the box with his username like he did with the boxes and the pictures. I would bet he wold sell out within a day if 1. he takes escrow and 2. can prove that he has is legitimate..

@experimental333

please have some respect and don't go spreading around that it's a scam just because you don't have it your way or I haven't answered the way you wanted me to. I have a right to decide how I am willing to sell my products or how to deal with it. I have always been respectful with you and appreciated your offers. Not because I haven't accepted it that I am a bad seller or scammer. I haven't even sold you anything and you say it's a scam. At least have a minimum of respect. Thanks you.

For the rest, I've got a few offers around, I am still reviewing some of them and deciding with them about it. Sorry if my answer comes in slowly. Thanks for understanding.

Trust me, I hope he's legit. But you know the old saying "If its too good to be true, it probably is".. There have multiple people offering to pay for a sellers account. If he hedges the sale he doesn't have to worry about the bitcoin fluctuation. I understand that he's unfamiliar with bitcoin but there are plenty of us that would be more than willing to help him through the process.

Im betting that you do receive your computer. My question is why won't he go through the proper channels and do escrow? I would pay extra for overnight shipping, therefore he could get his coin in 24 hours. Then that coin can be turned into dollars within a couple hours. Even though its a great deal, I don't have an extra 800 bucks on the hopes that its legit..

I truly hope that he comes through....
Title: Re: 17" Apple i7 Macbook Pro 2.3GHz Quad 8gb 500SSD
Post by: alcapone on September 10, 2011, 12:52 am
Yeah I am wavering and I have asked for some very specific needs to be met. If he does all the power to him because he will actually have the computers, he just wont have sent them LOL.

He does come from the carding world and having been a part of that it isnt uncommon for transactions to go this way. Its a short money game and he will get max $850 out of this forum if he is scheming.

We will see what he says. I am still waiting to hear back from him.

me too experimental.

i am transferring cash tomorrow a.m. and agreement is for overnight shipping monday, no exceptions.

i have covered every angle but him simply not shipping the laptops because after grilling him i am 90% sure he actually does have at least some of these things. maybe not 25 in his hands but there is some.

this will have a conclusion one way or the other in the next 50 hours !

peace.

Post by: chronicpain on September 10, 2011, 03:38 pm
Like you said, I believe he has some of them but probably not 25. Im pretty sure that you will receive your computer, but without escrow, I still cant risk the 800 bucks.. I wish that I could, but that could pay for my house payment... Now, if I could go through escrow, then Im sure he would sell out in hours, if not minutes. Im glad you have 800 to gamble on...

Just dont get why he wont do escrow? Heck, I would give him a sellers account, there isn't any reason for him not take any of our offers if its legit. Im sure others would help in paying for his sellers account too. Especially since we have a really good idea where they came from. We are not dealing with the most honest person in the world here, no offense...(I have no room to talk if im willing to purchase one, lol)But I can justify, can't I?

lol...

Escrow protects buyers 100%, it doesn't always protect sellers. Its the same as Paypal IMO. This site may swear by it but for someone who is coming over here and selling things for the first time putting his items in the hands of other people before he is paid isnt that crazy. If he ships the item and the buyer doesnt complete the transaction or BTC nosedives he is SOL. I know there is hedging and what not but he just got here, he isnt versed in all these things.

He doesnt know anyone here and in the event of a dispute he is the odd man out ... that might be his thinking. He is offering a good price, he may just want to be paid upfront for it.

We will see Tuesday whats up.

I was told currency would be done today but I just got home and logged in and still nothing. So it looks like Wednesday would be the earliest shipping date now.

first and foremost this MUST be done inside escrow.

it is so worth it to get a seller account if you have this type of access -

i cannot stress my amount of experience in this field electroapple - please be careful.

swim has many friends in all fields relating to this. swim is extremely connected.

while i fully support this endeavor, i want to share this:

there's ways to re-serialize everything on the mac. the motherboard. etching too. even the casing. don't ask me any questions :) Maybe I have CNC gear maybe not. Call me Will with this stuff , because there's always ways.

anyway, electroapple hustle it up my dude - just understand it would be much more profitable and safer for everyone including you -

if you purchased a seller account - we would have us the first apple vendor on SR and that would be awesome :)

personally swim has no problem buying a hot apple product.

As long as the Mac has not been registered, it's nobody's. it is VERY hard to have a single serial flagged/traced, post transaction. this is direct

retail information that swim is certain of. the rapidity of iphone sales i bet you - has a huge chunk of re-orders lol

Your credit card company eats up the charge and you get another one. (use amex for big purchases it's really a good idea)

But we do not know that. Many things about Apple we don't and wont know.

the sales of these items could also help SR get some balls hardware, which we all are down with.

peace

@lasagna75  Thanks for your advices, I appreciate the time you took. I like the idea of being the first Apple products seller on SR. I just follow my procedures and take baby steps for now, but I have to think about it, because there is also the fact that I don't like to deal with unstable currencies (bitcoins). hey everyone ... sorry for not updating this.

i appear to have been taken by the exchanger i used to convert my pecunix to lr for this transaction as well as one with vanillasmoke. i chose a smaller exchanger that promised faster service and i paid the price.

i have reloaded my pecunix with sales over the past few days so I am giving it another go with a larger more reputable exchanger tonight.

i will complete the deal over the weekend after i have contacted electroapple.

I want one so bad!! the only thing is that when you start thinking, paranoia starts to creep up. Couldn't Apple send the compromised SN's to whomever is in charge of them and kill them? I would hate to spend even 800 bucks and only be able to use it for a day or even worse, they get my ip address and find me..

Could someone that knows this biz chime in and ease my my mind?

thanks

They have NO WAY of knowing if a system is stolen or not.

The worst thing Apple will do is refuse to sell you AppleCare or service your system in-shop. They primarily use the S/Ns to figure out warranty coverage time and to figure out if you're a frequent buyer when you complain to the customer service department.  The more you buy, the further they stick their nose up your bum.

Not looking good. Maybe its just taking longer than expected. But, it shouldn't take this long to go thru an exchanger. But what happened to the buyer? I wonder if they were working together? I doubt it, but it does seem weird that its been days with no updates. it only takes a couple days to exchange the money (as long as you have the cash in one of the exchangers) so, I don't know, its not looking good.

So,if anyone has updates on this, please share....

the whole affair is very odd.

truthfully, at first, I suspected that the seller and buyer -- alcapone and electroapple -- were just the same person carrying out a fake transaction to build rep, though that story should have played out differently by now.  still, that possibility shouldn't be ruled out.

can only appeal to those with an extremely high risk appetite.

This business is very smelly indeed .
After 3 weeks of this thread we know nothing about the seller's trust or about first transaction
