If you know of any lawyers who do corporate merger work and are willing to discuss their business, this can be quite profitable. All you need is the name of the company about to be bought out, and get it before the announcement. This is pretty much the only "sure-fire" way of getting an insider tip to work, as sometimes the stock doesn't do what you would think when it's inner-company stuff. Just drop the stock at the merger price as soon as the offer is announced, and voila - free money!
I would pay for this information, personally, but this is the only stuff I would actually pay for.

Come on, we already have the DEA breathing down our necks, do we want the SEC on us, too?

When I first heard about bitcoin, I thought insider trading would be one of the perfect applications for anonymous money. On SR, an insider could put up a listing, sell to as many buyers as desired, then deliver to all of them a few days before an announcement. If the tip is shite, the seller makes nothing because of escrow, and is actually out the money they paid for an SR seller's account.
It's a dangerous game for buyers as the SEC actively looks for traders that buy before announcements, and sells at a profit shortly thereafter. They only look for big fish though: see the case of Cheng Yi Liang where he was making millions for years before the SEC caught up with him, and he was trading in small stocks, which makes it much easier to find suspicious activity. So long as buyers are already active on the stock market, and don't get too greedy, it shouldn't be too risky.
I'm not sure I like the idea of SR being used for insider trading, though. Like child porn, there's no need to attract even more attention. Whether anyone likes it or not, though, I think it's just a matter of time before insider trading happens with bitcoins.

I don't expect to make enough to get attention. Someone might eventually.
I have other things I'd rather be working on that are legal, and useful, but need the seed money to get started.
